The shopping is done, the packing is complete and the next two years of my life has been reduced to about 45lbs total and I feel absolutely great about it! It feels good to get rid of 'things' and 'stuff' kinda liberating! Don't get me wrong I am about to have an emotional week of good byes but I am excited to start this next chapter in my life!
Departure is September 5th! Bismarck to Denver to San Francisco where I will meet the other 26 volunteers for a brief orientation before we head out to September 6th for Nepal. We head from San Francisco to Tokyo/Narita to Bangkok to Kathmandu and we start our 3 month process of training! There are a lot of unknowns yet like addresses, who my family is that will be hosting me, what kind of stomach bugs I am in for, excitement of no toilet paper and a hole in the ground. Just exciting things I am in for. In reality it sounds like the people of Nepal really enjoy hosting us and are very friendly, like I said, I am stoked I get to live in Nepal for the next 2 years.
